I have used Flair Designs paper in my altered art projects over the years. I always find myself impressed with their variety of theme specific papers that make it very easy to complete scrapbooking projects quickly. I am not always fortunate enough to find all the coordinating paper in a set under one roof, so I was excited to be asked to review Flair Designs’ Easter Surprise Collection.
Here is what I received to review:
8 sheets of 12 x 12 paper
1 each of :
Bunny Trail Paper
Chicks Rule Paper
Daffodil Daze Paper
Easter Surprise Words Paper
Eggs-Stravaganza Paper
Happy Easter Stripe Paper
He Is Risen Paper
Jelly Bean Jam Paper
1 sheet-Happy Easter Cardstock Stickers"
1 sheet-Easter Sunday Cardstock Stickers"
As took out each new design, I had to smile. The cheerful colors and cute patterns won me over immediately. My favorite patterns were Jelly Bean Jam (yum) and the Chick’s Rule (too cute) paper. It always impresses me how the designers at Flair Designs are able to blend colorful, distinct designs with a “distressed” look without making the paper look old or dirty. In my opinion, this allows the patterns to be used with modern photos and home decor as well as heritage photos.
For my first project, I went to my stack of Easter photos from the past three years. I was a little worried that the paper would be too feminine for an older boy, but I was very pleased with the results. I took one sheet of Daffodil Daze paper and started cutting away. I adhered a few eggs from the Eggs-Stravaganza paper to thin chipboard, cut them out, and hid them among the daffodils and on the layout. I used one egg for the date-title, outlined the daffodils with Stickles and added rhinestones to the centers of some of the flowers. For a quick and easy title, I used “Easter Morning” and photo corners from the coordinating Easter Sunday Cardstock Sticker sheet, and added a few pop dots on the back for dimension.

Products used:
Patterned Paper(Flair Designs Easter Surprise Collection)
Cardstock Stickers (Flair Designs Easter Sunday, Happy Easter)
Cardstock (Bazzill, Club Scrap)
Ink (Adirondak Ranger)
Glitter glue (Ranger Stickles)
Rhinestones (Bead Party)
Adhesive (Adhesive Tech)
My second project was a no brainer. Flair Designs Easter Surprise Collection is color and style coordinated. All I had to do was to supply the foundation and choose the order of the papers.
For the foundation, I used a cute little chipboard book that came with a few chipboard tags. I used metallic acrylic paint to distress the edges of the pages, and added some of the Flair Designs Happy Easter Chipboard stickers as embellishments. Some of the larger stickers come nested on the sheet. For instance, the frame around the cover bunny could be used as two separate frames and a bunny image, however, I liked using them all together. Instead of just pulling the stickers off, I cut around the outside of the frame to give the embellishment a matted (blue) look.

Board Book (K & Company)
Acrylic Paint (Jaquard)
Adhesive (Adhesive Tech, Mod Podge)
Book binding tape, Ribbon
I altered a tissue box holder for my third review project. The weight of this patterned paper is perfect for altering projects. It does not warp or tear when using Mod Podge. I used Jelly Bean Jam and Egg-Stravaganza paper along with a few of the Happy Easter Cardstock Stickers for embellishments. I alternated the papers so that the two opposite sides of the holder had the same paper. I love this color and pattern combination. Doesn’t it just make you smile?!

The “He Is Risen” paper is printed with words in various fonts and colors having to do more with the ceremony of Easter such as “He Lives, Glory, Christ Victorious.” The Easter Sunday Cardstock Stickers also celebrate the more religious side of the holiday as well. I think that this is worth noting because you might have photos that fit this theme. Here are three cards using this pattern as a background and the cardstock stickers as embellishments.

This review was pure pleasure for me! The cheerful, bright colors of Flair Designs’ Easter Surprise collection, were a delightful change from the subtle more feminine Easter patterns that I usually see in the stores. Scrappers with boys or girls will be able to use this collection easily! I love that the paper patterns are coordinated and that the coordinating cardstock stickers made it easy to create matching embellishments. If you are looking for a fun, vibrant way to showcase your Easter photos, look no further. Flair Designs’ Easter Surprise Collection might be just what you have been searching for!

Great projects!! I love the multi-photo double-pager! The handcut daffodil borders are a really sweet, funky touch!
